LebNet Tech Fellows Program 2026 Celebrates Its Fourth Cohort

The LebNet Tech Fellows 2026 Graduation Ceremony celebrated the completion of the program’s fourth cohort, with 102 fellows earning certificates, including 33 who graduated with distinction. Eighty graduates, accompanied by their families, attended the celebration at AUB, while others joined online.

The ceremony opened with welcome remarks from Samer Hasan of AUB and program leader Hussein Mozannar, who presented a comprehensive overview of the AI curriculum, spanning topics from logistic regression to language models and transformer architectures.

In her remarks, LebNet President and Executive Director Jeanine Akiki encouraged the graduates to use their knowledge with purpose:

“You represent the future of Lebanese excellence in technology. Use what you have learned to imagine boldly, build responsibly, and create opportunities for others. As you pursue excellence in your fields, follow the example of the volunteers who made this program possible: help build a united Lebanese community, support one another’s success, and lift others along the way.”

Six distinguished fellows, Malak Aboul Hosn, Gio Saliba, Omar Al-Aghbari, Eyad Oumar, Wassim Shams, and Joud Senan, presented distinguished and innovative projects exploring Lebanese wildfire prediction, medical imaging analysis, Arabic-language processing, self-consistency approaches to AI reasoning, operational memory systems for team coordination, and lottery ticket hypothesis research.

Twelve Tech Fellows also reflected on their experiences and the program’s impact, sharing how it made complex AI concepts more accessible while reinforcing the importance of community, responsibility, and continuous learning.

The event concluded with the Certificate of Completion ceremony, marking an important milestone for the fourth cohort and welcoming them into the growing LebNet Tech Fellows community.
